Delhi Capitals Predicted XI
The Delhi Capitals (DC) had possibly the best auction of all the teams participating in the Women’s Premier League’s debut season (WPL). They fulfilled their requirement of maximum player strength by purchasing 18 players at the auction. Even yet, Delhi was only left with 35 lakh rupees of their 12 crore rupee budget.
At Rs 2.2 crore, Indian batter Jemimah Rodrigues was Delhi’s most expensive acquisition. DC also acquired Shafali Verma, a youthful opener, for Rs 2 crore. The Indian team of Jemimah Rodrigues and Shafali Verma can start the game for Delhi. For the Women in Blue, who once again advanced to the semifinals, Rodrigues had an outstanding T20 World Cup performance. The 22-year-old nearly led India to victory with an outstanding knock in the semifinal match against Australia after scoring a superb half-century in the triumph over Pakistan. Rodrigues has played in 80 T20 Internationals, scoring 1704 runs with a strike rate of 114.20, an average of 29.89, and 10 half-centuries.
Shafali Verma’s T20 World Cup performance was disappointing. She competed in five matches, earning a total score of 33. The 19-year-old, though, never got going and hampered India’s momentum early in the innings. Shafali, though, performs far better than she did at the ICC competition in South Africa. She has five fifty-plus scores and a strike rate of 132.11 in 56 T20Is, totaling 1333 runs. The child can contribute as well with her off-spin.

Middle-order and all-rounders:

Meg Lanning, the World Cup-winning captain of Australia, will be the middle-order leader. With 3405 runs scored in 132 T20Is at an average of 36.61 and a strike rate of 116.37, two hundreds, and 15 fifties, the 30-year-old is a legend in the women’s game. Also, she has amassed over 4600 runs in ODIs with a respectable average of 53.51, 15 hundreds, and 21 fifties. Lanning helped Australia win the T20 World Cup in 2023 by hitting three significant 40s.
Taniya Bhatia, a young Indian cricketer, might start as the team’s wicketkeeper and batter. Bhatia, 25, has played 53 T20 Internationals and totaled 172 runs, with a high of 46. She has also played in 19 ODIs, contributing some useful hits.
Bowlers:

For DC’s starting XI, Poonam Yadav, Radha Yadav, and Jess Jonassen are all capable spin bowlers. Leg-spinner Poonam has 98 scalps in 72 T20Is, with a good economy rate of 5.75 and an average of 15.25. She has three hauls of four wickets to her name. The 31-year-old also has 80 wickets from 58 One Day Internationals, with an excellent economy rate of 3.97 and an average of 25.15. She hasn’t played for India since March 2022, despite having better numbers, and will be eager to make a statement.
The addition of left-arm spinner Radha Yadav will give DC’s bowling more variety. She is an expert in T20I, having represented India in 67 games and taking 68 wickets at an average of 21.54 and a 6.61 economy rate. She possesses a critical talent for consistently taking up wickets.
